The disruption occurred during presentations by Microsoft AI CEO Mustafa Suleyman, alongside former chief executives Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer at the company’s Redmond headquarters. Software engineer Ibtihal Aboussad approached the stage, confronting Suleyman over Microsoft’s role in providing AI capabilities to military operations.
“Mustafa, shame on you,” Aboussad declared. “You claim that you care about using AI for good, but Microsoft sells AI weapons to the Israeli military.” The engineer proceeded to throw a keffiyeh scarf – a symbol of Palestinian solidarity – onto the stage before security personnel escorted her from the venue.

A second employee, Vaniya Agrawal, also voiced opposition during the celebration. “Shame on you all.
