How to Remove a Ring Stick-Up Cam

The Ring Stick Up Security is a wireless security camera that allows you to set up a simple security system to protect your home and loved ones.

The Ring stick-up cam is a wire-free cam designed to be placed anywhere around your home and can be moved around freely since it does not require any cabling or connection boxes.

It can be placed on any flat surface for flexibility or mounted on a wall for a more permanent placement solution.

Removing your Ring stick-up security camera is a very simple process, and it all depends on where and how you installed it. So, in this article, I’ll be exploring some of the reasons why you may want to remove your Ring stick-up security camera and how you can do that.

How to Remove a Ring Stick-Up Cam from inside of your home

The location and method of installation of your Ring stick-up security camera will determine how easy it is to remove the device. You can easily remove your ring stick security camera from the shelf or desk it was placed on and move it to a different location. You must also remove the Ring stick-up security camera from your Ring app if you no longer intend to use it.

How to Remove a Ring Stick-Up Cam from the Ring app

Removing a Ring stick-up security camera from the Ring app is a very simple process. All you need to do is go into your ring app and then go to your settings and find “registered devices.” You may have multiple devices connected to your Ring app, so select the one you want to remove.

Then select “remove the device” under general settings after going to device settings. Please be certain that you want to unplug your device from the Ring app before doing so, as doing so will erase all of the data you have stored for that security camera on the app. As a result, items like your saved screenshots and recordings would also be erased.

How to Remove a Ring Stick-Up Cam from either the Wall or the Ceiling

If your Ring stick-up cam is installed on a wall or ceiling, then you will need to use your screwdriver to remove all the screws which you used to fasten it onto the wall or ceiling. Once that is done, all you have to do is pull off your ring stick-up cam from the base and take off the base of your Ring stick-up cam from the wall or ceiling.

However, you will find that you will now have some exposed holes in your wall or ceiling, so do make sure to cover them up with some cement or concrete. If you intend to take your Ring stick-up security camera somewhere else, then you may need to keep all your screws, wall anchors, and wall brackets handy so that you won’t need to get new ones once you want to install them again. However, if you only intend to charge or remove your batteries and replace them with new ones, then do make sure not to unscrew the mounting base from the wall or ceiling.

You must open the Ring app, navigate to settings, and look for registered devices if you also want to remove the Ring Stick Up security camera from the Ring app. Choose the device you want to unpair from any that may be connected to your Ring app.

Then select “remove the device” under general settings after going to device settings. Please be certain that you want to unplug your device from the Ring app before doing so, as doing so will erase all of the data you have stored for that security camera on the app. Consequently, items like your records and screenshots would also be deleted.

Why Would I Need to Remove My Ring Stick-Up Camera

  • You may need to remove your Ring stick-up camera for several reasons.
  • You may need to change the batteries on your Ring stick-up camera
  • You may need to change the placement of your Ring stick up camera
  • You may be moving to a new home, and you would like to take your ring stick-up camera with you.
  • It may have become defective and may need to be disposed of or replaced with a new one.
  • You may want to give it to someone else as a gift but do make sure you have removed it from your Ring app.

Whatever reason you may have to remove your Ring Stick Up security camera, please make sure you know what you want to do with it next.

How Do I Remove the Batteries on My Ring Stick-Up Cam?

To remove the battery on your Ring stick-up cam, you will need to first remove the battery cover by twisting it counterclockwise to unlock the cover. Then proceed to remove the battery. You may need to remove your battery from your Ring stick-up camera because you would like to charge it or replace it with a new one.

How do I Install My Ring Stick Up Cam

Your Ring stick-up cam can be installed anywhere, so picking a specific location is very important. Additionally, be sure to put your Ring stick-up security camera in a location that both offers the view you want to see and is difficult to miss. It might be hung from the ceiling, a wall, or a bookshelf.

Once you have selected a location to install your Ring stick-up cam, your installation process will differ depending on where you have picked it.

The base should be turned around so that the long side faces the front if you intend to mount it on a shelf or table. The Ring stick-up security camera will then need to be tilted downward. Set your Ring stick up the camera’s “open lock” indicator so that it faces the battery cover at the back. To lock it in place, push the cover on and turn it clockwise.

However, if you plan on installing your Ring stick-up cam on a wall or ceiling, you will need to remove the base of your security camera by unscrewing it with your screwdriver. Then re-attach the base to the back of the Ring Stick Up Cam with the “UP” racket pointing upward. Then remove the mounting bracket by sliding it from the base of the Ring Stick Up Cam.

Place the bracket on your wall, making sure that the “UP” arrow is pointing up, and mount it using the mounting screws that are included. The groves on the base can then be used to direct the bracket’s hooks. The security cam can then be secured to the wall by sliding it down.

Once you’ve adjusted your Ring stick-up camera to the ideal angle, check the view from the Ring app to make sure it looks good. After that, align the battery cover and the “open lock” sign on the back of your Ring stick-up camera. To lock it in place, push the cover on and turn it clockwise.

Conclusion

Removing your Ring stick-up cam is a simple process and should not take you a long time to get done. However, you should be aware that once you remove your Ring stick-up cam from the Ring app, all your user data will be wiped away with it.
