Ever since the Jabra Elite Active 75t Earbuds came out, many people have debated whether there is any difference between the Active and the Elite earbuds.
So, in this article, I will discuss both earbuds to find out if there is a difference between them.
The Jabra Elite 75t and the Jabra Elite Active 75t are effectively the same device with very few differences between them. However, there are a few key differences and similarities between the two earbuds, and these would be;
The Jabra Elite Active has an IP6 rating which means it can be submerged in up to 3m of water for 30mins. This would allow the device to be more resistant to water damage as it is more tightly packed, so if you were to fall into a pool, the earbuds should be fine. However, the Jabra Elite 75t has an IP5 rating which means it is less water resistant than its Active counterpart. It cannot be submerged in water, but it can resist water that is sprayed on it.
The Jabra Elite Active 75t comes in navy and copper black, while the Jabra Elite 75t comes in beige and titanium black.
From a design standpoint, both devices look exactly the same, they weigh the same, they are the same size, and they are both made of plastic. If put side by side, both devices are indistinguishable from each other.
However, there is a slight difference in their design, and that is in the extra layer of rubber found on top of the device and the charging case. Both the buds and their charging case have an extra layer of rubber on top of them, which gives them a better grip and a very premium feel.
In terms of performance, Both devices sound the same, and they are both very loud and unbalanced, with both having that boost to the bass that distorts the overall sound quality while also not adding enough bass to lighter higher-pitched songs; however, you can adjust the EQ using the Jabra app.
Both devices lasted the same amount of time which was 7hrs. Also, both devices can be charged by the other’s case, which means they have the same internal components.
The Jabra Elite 75t Earbuds provide the best value for money because the difference between the two devices is very minimal, and I can’t see the value in paying an extra $100 for an improved IP rating and a layer of rubber, especially when the main device also has an IP Rating especially when both devices sound exactly the same.
The Jabra Elite Active 75t earbud is a good device, but the differences between it and the base model elite are very minimal. I wish they had improved the sound quality on the Active; that change alone would have made the Active worth taking a look at, even if everything else was still the same.
