Acer Swift 1 SF114-32 Laptop Review and Buying Guide

The Acer Swift 1 SF 114-32 is a cheap laptop with metal chassis and solid performance for users who don’t have a very high budget but want an ultra-thin modern laptop they can carry around with or without the power adapter.

It runs on Windows 10 Operating system and supports apps like Microsoft Office and Photoshop Elements. It is an affordable Laptop good to handle the daily workload for both workers and students.

Acer Swift 1 SF114-32 Design

The Acer Swift 1 SF114-32 has a sleek Ultra-thin design although the build quality is not as high as other more expensive laptops. The exterior of the Acer Swift 1 SF 114-32 is made of metal which is a lot better than the plastic laptops.

The lid is rigid so it cannot be opened with one hand and makes a little squeak sound when you twist it but that’s about it. There are a thin bezel and rubber rings around the display to prevent it from touching the keypad when it is closed. It has a decent-sized backlit keyboard which is very responsive with a fingerprint reader and a big touchpad centred at the end of the board.

On the left side is a power plug, HDMI connector, USB Type-C 3.1 (Gen. 1) port, 2x USB Type-A 3.0 ports and on the right side there is a single USB Type-A 2.0 port, a headphone jack, and a MicroSD card slot.

Acer Swift 1 SF114-32 Display

Acer Swift 1 SF114-32 has a 14inch Full HD IPS LED display size with a 16:9 screen ratio and 1920 x 1080p resolution at 157 PPI density. It offers an improved viewing angle with decent colours and less than 300nits maximum brightness.

Movies appear sharp on the Acer Swift 1 SF224-32 but the panel is dull which compromises the viewing experience and takes it a step backwards compared to the previous model.

Performance and Battery Life

The Acer Swift 1 SF114-32 packs an Intel Pentium Silver N5000 processor more efficient than its predecessor at 1.1GHz speed, 4GB of RAM and 64GB storage. This processor is not as fast as the core-series processor which means loading pages and downloading files will take longer than the core-powered laptops.

It also has a Kensington lock for protecting your device whenever you’re out in public. The bottom stereo speaker on the Acer Swift 1 SF114-32 is loud enough to fill a small size room but the audio quality isn’t so good so it is better you use a headphone. The integrated graphics on this laptop are not powerful enough to play modern games so don’t bother trying it.

It comes with all the right kinds of ports you would like to have in a laptop. The keypads are very tactile and don’t feel cheap with a backlight which was not expected for a laptop of this price range. It has an excellent battery life tested to last about 17hours.
